Chapter Twenty-Six: We Cross the Mountains
VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

Crusoe and the group travel through the bitterly cold snow...
In chapter twenty-six of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe...Crusoe heads out of Lisbon with the people to a bitterly cold town called Pampeluna. Friday is very scared because he has never experienced snow and bitter cold before. They stay in Pampeluna for twenty days because of the severe weather conditions. When they finally head into the woods, Friday kills a wolf, saving a man. As they move on, they meet a bear. The whole group is entertained by Friday as he teases it before he kills it. Crusoe talks about the fear of the wolves in the area as they travel. They fight many of them and Crusoe very happy that they all made it out. They soon arrive in Toulouse, where they find a warm place for the ill guide to stay. Crusoe talks to the people about the journey and thinks about his sensibility to the danger they faced...

I liked reading this chapter because they worked to get to England. I still miss reading about the island, but I am excited for the next chapter.

Chapter Twenty-Seven: I Revisit My Island
VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

Crusoe returns to find a thriving colony that the men formed...
In chapter twenty-seven of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe...Crusoe makes it to England, where he meets his widow friend. He considers going back to Lisbon, and then to Brazil, but decides not to because of the Roman Catholic religion there. He writes to his friend in Brazil, asking him to sell the plantation. Crusoe is accustomed to a wandering life. He talks about having Brazil in his mind, because he wants to move there. His friend, the widow, convinces him not to do it. He lives like this for seven years, during which he takes care of some nephews. He marries and has three children. During a voyage to Spain, he returns to his island, where he sees a thriving colony that the men formed. From there he goes to Brazil for a little while. At Brazil Crusoe sends the men animals. Crusoe ends the chapter talking about how the men survived a large invasion from the savages...

I enjoyed reading this book very much. I loved reading about his adventures, and all of the things he did to survive and thrive on the abandoned island. I wish I could read more about his adventures after the end of this chapter.

The two discover that there are eleven men on the ship. He finds three unarmed prisoners. Crusoe also finds that one of the men is the captain of the ship and the sailors rebelled against him. They negotiate and decide that Crusoe would free him under two conditions: that the captain would live with Crusoe and no take authority, and if the ship would be recovered, that he would give Crusoe and his men a free ride to England.  Friday and the captain's mate go to the boat and secure it. Crusoe takes the captain and his two men to his apartment, where he gives them things. Ten men come out to find the boat stripped with holes in it. Crusoe uses strategies to confuse the men. After time the men finally surrender, the captain offers to save all of them but the leader if they surrender their weapons. He is told by the captain that he would be hanged in the morning...

I think this chapter was very complicated. A lot happened. I am excited to read about everyone preparing the ship in the upcoming chapters.

In chapter twenty-four of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe...Crusoe decides it is time to seize the ship. He and the captain agree to scare the men into helping by telling they could get killed if they refuse to help. After the captain of the rebels is killed, the ship was successfully taken back, with no one being killed. After a good rest, Crusoe is given things by the captain. There were peas, sugar, flour, pork, clothes, good tobacco, wine, lemons, and juice. Crusoe tells the rebel men that they could stay on the island to keep from being killed in England. He later boards the ship to England with a few of his possessions, after many years on the island...

I am happy Crusoe is finally off the island. I am kind of sad, because I enjoyed reading about his adventures. Maybe he will visit the island again.

Friday has trouble understanding the devil, however. After a long conversation, Friday becomes a strong Christian. He talks about reading scripture and talking with Friday, while growing in faith himself. Friday wants to go back to his homeland, but doesn't want to leave Crusoe. He suggests that Crusoe come with him, so Crusoe takes Friday out to cut down a large tree and build a canoe for Friday to use on the voyage. They cut it out and make it look nice. Chapter Nineteen: I Call Him Friday
VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

In chapter nineteen of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe...Crusoe decides to name the man Friday.
He takes care of him and teaches him words. He teaches him all kinds of things and shows him to eat the right food instead of humans. One day the two of them go to the shore and look at the dead people. They clean up the remains and Friday tells Crusoe exactly what happened. The rest of the chapter Crusoe just talks about making stew and other foods with his friend...
